Aurora vs Sonia
The last match on the undercard was one that has been in the making for months - ever since Sonia deserted her then partner Aurora in a tag team match against Talia and Syn.
Ever since that time, Sonia has spiraled out of control and has made it her quest to destroy her former teammates.
However, she prefers to do this outside the ring. Still, this match was made, despite Sonia’s protests, by the WCF Commissioner after much lobbying from Aurora and an outpouring of support from fans.
Before the bell rung, Sonia dressed down Aurora and said that since she didn’t agree to the match, she didn’t have to fight.
Needless to say, the Mighty Mite took matters into her own hands - or should I say feet - and made sure that the match continued.
A standing suplex - which really highlighted the size difference between one of the
Fed’s tallest and its shortest fighters - put even more pressure on the big redhead’s back.
The Mighty Mite’s strategy continued with a brutal backbreaker that elicited guttural screams of pain.
This Ukranian leg press - a variation of the debilitating Boston Crab, kept Sonia off her feet and applied even more pressure to Sonia’s back.
But then from out of nowhere - actually from under the ring - the mysterious Red Menace
entered the fray and met her old punching bag, Aurora, with a devastating right cross.
Fans, if you’ll recall, many observers had thought Sonia was the Red Menace until the masked fighter took Sonia out before her fight with Razor. Now she enters a fight between two of her former victims?!? Just what is this enigmatic fighter’s agenda?
After a big knee lift, Red Menace set Aurora up for a piledriver.
However, this was interrupted by the entrance of Syren and Miko - two of Jasmine’s teammates.
Although most observers were shocked by the Stars’ save, close watchers of the Federation should have guessed that between Elektra’s close ties to former Angel Jasmine and the Angels ongoing feud Sonia (who actually was the mind behind the attack that threatened to end Jasmine's career), the Stars would be watching this one closely.
The Menace, who has yet to be touched by a WCF fighter, saw the cavalry arrive and hightailed it out of the arena.
Sonia took advantage of the opening and landed a spine-busting atomic drop on Aurora.
A series of knees to the pelvic and (her already injured) genital area left the Mighty Mite begging for mercy.
After a power slam, Sonia carried her fallen foe to the ropes for a suplerplex.
Before she executed the move, she whispered something in Aurora’s ear.
I’m sure it wasn’t the recipe for her famous Red Velvet Cake!
But whatever it was, it was like a shot of adrenaline for the Mighty Mite.
She caught an unsuspecting Sonia with a body press off the top rope!
What amazing intestinal fortitude displayed by Aurora!
But that wasn’t enough for the vengeful Angel.
She followed with a brutal piledriver on the big redhead!
I tell you, that crack of her neck could be heard all the way up in the announcer’s booth!
After the count out, Aurora was met in the ring by the two fighters who made this victory possible.
The fans were all left to wonder whether this alliance between the Angels and Crimson Stars
was a one-night partnership of convenience or a sign of bigger things to come?
